What we build together

01

A school list with reasons

Compare recruiting access, program fit, location, and verified costs. Leave with a shortlist and the questions you still need schools to answer.

02

An application plan

Map deadlines, test preparation, recommendation requests, and writing milestones around your service and transition commitments.

03

A usable story bank

Identify specific situations, choices, results, and lessons from your service. Decide which examples answer each school's actual prompts.

04

Feedback you can act on

Receive comments on your own drafts and resume, then practice interview answers with a debrief and clear next steps.

A teaching example · invented for illustration

Keep the experience. Explain the decision.

This is a constructed example of the kind of feedback we would discuss. It is not a client result or a passage to copy into your application.

Starting point

“Served as platoon leader responsible for personnel readiness and mission accomplishment.”

This names a role and responsibilities. The reader still cannot see what you decided or how you led.

A more useful direction

“When two teams disagreed about training priorities, I brought their leaders together, identified the work that depended on both teams, and revised the schedule around those shared constraints.”

Now the reader can see a problem, your actions, and your reasoning. The next revision needs the actual outcome and what you learned.

  • Make your contribution distinct from the unit’s work.
  • Replace acronyms with the context the reader needs.
  • Use only results and numbers you can substantiate.
  • Connect the lesson to the question the school asked.

Service to School or paid coaching?

Service to School pairs applicants with volunteer mentors at no cost, and it is worth using. A volunteer's time, background, and response speed vary, and the match is not always someone who has made the move you are trying to make. Coaching with me is one person, on a schedule, for the whole cycle, who got into Stern with a 2.8 and recruited into consulting from there.

Start with Service to School

Choose a volunteer ambassador if you want experienced, free admissions support. Ask your ambassador how you will work together and how to coordinate feedback around your deadlines.

Questions before we work together

Who is this for?

Current and former military officers considering an MBA or preparing applications. Coaching is especially useful when you need to choose schools, explain your experience to a civilian reader, or organize work around a transition timeline.

What if I am still deciding whether to pursue an MBA?

Start with the free chapter and reader worksheets, or email me to arrange a free 20-minute call to discuss your goals and the decision you are facing.

When should I start?

Several months before your first application deadline gives you more room to plan, write, and revise. If a deadline is close, I will confirm whether I can support it before you pay.

How quickly will I receive feedback?

We agree on review dates and a response schedule before the engagement begins. Send deadlines with your inquiry. Same-day reviews, weekend availability, and last-minute rush work are not assumed; they require advance agreement.

What does full-cycle support cover?

Your agreed admissions cycle, school list, application materials, revisions, and interview preparation through the decisions covered by the engagement. We put that scope and the working schedule in writing before payment. A later application cycle or unrelated career coaching requires a separate agreement.

Do you write applications for me?

You write your essays and own every statement you submit. I help you choose examples, structure the story, and revise for clarity. Recommenders write their own recommendations, and we follow each school's rules about assistance.

Do you guarantee admission?

No. Schools make admissions decisions. I do not publish a client acceptance rate or imply that my own admission to Stern predicts your outcome.
